Sung Ho Yoo

28 years old

 -

South Korea

Sung Ho Yoo was immersed in music from a young age thanks to his mother. He followed his brother in learning the violin when he was 4, but switched to piano at the age of 7, discovering a stronger interest and talent. It was his debut recital at the age of 14 that deepened his love for music and strengthened his aspirations: “Completing that recital, I realized, despite my youth and typically shy demeanor, my ability to enjoy music on stage and my desire to share that experience with the audience.” He went on to earn his bachelor's and master’s under Daejin Kim at the Korea National University of Arts, where he was given the President’s Award. His studies then brought him to the United States, where he earned a second master’s at the New England Conservatory with Dang Thai Son, and then Germany, where he’s currently pursuing an artist diploma with Arie Vardi at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover.

Winner of the 2024 Seoul International Music Competition, Sung Ho has performed in China, Japan, Russia, Germany, Spain, and Switzerland. Having made his orchestral debut at the age of 16, he’s now performed with the KBS Symphony Orchestra, Novaya Rossiya State Symphony Orchestra, Tongyeong Festival Orchestra, Gunpo Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, Hankyung Arte Philharmonic Orchestra, DITTO Orchestra, Confero Camerata, and KNUA Symphony Orchestra. He draws inspiration from a well-rounded life, believing particularly in “the importance of sharing experiences with others. Engaging in meaningful conversations with friends, family, and fellow musicians provides me with fresh perspectives and insights that fuel my creativity. These interactions allow me to explore diverse ideas and emotions, enriching my artistic expression.”
